Hermaphrodite, or in Malay is called khunsa. It is when a child is born with male and female genitals together. Under the Muslim law, the person has the right to choose which gender he/she inclines to. As for Yasmin Ahmad, she was born as a hermaphrodite (after much research done in the internet), she was first known as Zulkiflee Ahmad, the first runner up in Bintang RTM, a singing contest back in the 70s if I'm not mistaken. After considering her options and referring the matter to the Islamic Council, she decides to be a woman. So now, she is Yasmin Ahmad. No longer Zulkiflee Ahmad.

This post is not intended to tarnish her image. I my self is a fan of her TV commercial. I love her work. Being born as a hermaphrodite is not a crime. She followed the Muslim law in deciding her current sex, and I think there's nothing wrong with it. Thus choose what to and not to believe. I may be wrong, you may be wrong, we all might be wrong.

Anyway, apa2 pun al-FATIHAH utk beliau, agar segala dosa2nya diampuni oleh ALLAH swt serta amalan baiknya di dunia diterima oleh ALLAH jua...
